Self-service portal allows customers to schedule their own service calls

Minneapolis, MN – June 9, 2014 – RazorSync, the award-winning, cloud-based desktop and mobile software app, released a significant upgrade this week including several enhancements to the popular field service management software. The most innovative new feature is the launch of a customer portal which allows contractors to invite customers to schedule their own service requests. By making it easier for contractors to bring back repeat business through the portal, RazorSync takes a dramatic step forward in making mobile management of service teams more efficient and profitable.

“Contractors in every industry, from HVAC to plumbing and electrical, need a way to connect with customers for repeat business. The high marketing costs to find and acquire new customers tap resources from small and medium service businesses. The most successful ones contain those costs by finding innovative ways to keep customers coming back again and again,” said Christopher Rywelski, RazorSync’s vice president of product marketing. “These businesses already rely on RazorSync for a paperless solution to manage work orders and scheduling, now the contractors’ best mobile management tool is also their best marketing tool.”

Additional features introduced with Version 4.8 are all designed to improve communication among office staff, service workers and customers. Teams are now able to view work order status at a glance with flexible color-coding options, for example, green if the field worker is onsite, or red if the work order is complete. A new list view puts information such as notes and messages where it may be easily shared by office and field staff. Plus newly expanded drag-and-drop functions allow office staff to create new service requests instantly by clicking and dragging the work order onto a field worker’s timeline.

RazorSync v4.8 is available as an upgrade for existing and trial customers at no charge. New customers are eligible for a free trial. To see included features, check out our pricing plans comparison chart for a detailed breakdown.
